The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched atop a 160-metre rock outcrop in the heart of the Cultural Triangle, this sacred site has been a place of worship for over 2,200 years, making it one of the longest continuously functioning Buddhist shrines in the world.
